Frequently asked questions
Getting Started
What areas do you serve?
We construct custom pools across Manatee, Hillsborough and Sarasota County. (Lakewood Ranch, Parrish, Palmetto, Ellenton, North River Ranch, Wimauma, Ruskin, Bradenton, North Sarasota, and Apollo Beach).
How do I get a price for a new pool?
Begin with a complimentary design consultation. Please contact us to arrange an on-site appointment, where we will discuss your vision, explore design possibilities and discuss how we can transform your backyard into a functional retreat. After that, we’ll provide a detailed proposal.
Do you handle permits and HOA approvals?
Yes. We manage all permits and engineering. We will also provide drawings/specs for your HOA as needed.
Design & Build
What should I prepare before our meeting?
A few inspiration photos, your property survey (if available), and a rough budget range help us tailor the design.
Gunite, fiberglass, or vinyl—what does DuWet build?
We specialize in gunite/shotcrete custom pools for maximum design flexibility and longevity.
Can you match my home’s style and deck materials?
Yes—travertine, pavers, shellstone, texture concrete, and more. We’ll recommend what fits your look and budget.
Do you build spas and sun shelves/tanning ledges?
Absolutely. Popular add-ons include raised spas, sun shelves, bubblers, and color-changing LEDs.
Will I meet the same team throughout the project?
Yes. DuWet Pools is family-owned, and your project is personally managed from design through start-up. Our company includes approximately 25 experienced, long-tenured employees (not all family), so you’ll see familiar faces on site. You’ll have a single point of contact (project manager) and the same core supervisors/crew leads for excavation & steel, shotcrete, decking, and finish. Licensed specialty partners are scheduled and overseen by us to keep communication clear and quality consistent
Features & Options
Saltwater vs. chlorine—what’s best?
Both are sanitized with chlorine; salt systems generate it on site and feel gentler. We’ll size the cell correctly for your pool.
Do I need a screen enclosure?
Optional. Enclosures reduce debris and bugs and can provide sun control; we build standard and picture-window styles.
Energy efficiency options?
DuWet use Hayward Variable-speed pumps, LED lighting, solar or heat pump heaters, and automation scheduling.
Do you build waterfalls and water bowls?
Yes. We design and install sheer descents, scuppers, spillways, and water bowls. They add movement, help mask ambient noise, and can slightly cool surface water on hot days.
Budget, Payments & Financing
How much does a custom pool cost?
Pool cost is dependant on size, finish, deck, screen enclosure, and options.
Do you offer financing?
We can recommend lenders that specialize in pool financing.
What’s your payment schedule?
Milestone-based (design/contract, excavation/steel, shotcrete, decking, finish/start-up). Details are outlined in your agreement.
How do change orders work?
We’ll price any changes in writing for approval before work proceeds.
After-Build: Warranty & Care
What warranties do you provide?
Structural shell, equipment (manufacturer), and workmanship warranties—all detailed in your contract.
Do you offer start-up and pool school?
Yes—we balance the water, start equipment, and provide a Pool School walk-through.
How do I request service or a warranty visit?
Call our service department at 941.744.9290 or send a detail of the issue to service@duwetpools.com
Do I receive any cleaning supplies?
Yes. At start-up we provide a basic care kit so you can keep the pool sparkling from day one. It typically includes a telescoping pole, leaf net, wall brush, and a starter test kit.
